A girl and her horse....

Yesterday was my nieces birthday and it was a lot of fun to get all the kids together. It's also good practice for my kids to learn to interact with people in the real world and great family time as well. ^_^

Anyway, my sister hands me a big purple ShareBear(carebear) since her daughter's growing out of liking carebears. I also see a HUGE white horse that's headed to the trash bin cuz of a crack down the middle of her(split from her rear nearly to her shoulders *ouch*). I pick her up, examine the crack and ask Dear Sis if I may also take the horse home. Sis & niece are happy to be rid of the 'broken' horse.

When we get home and get the kids in bed I start fiddling with the horse and see that the reason she won't pop back into place is that one of her inside pegs was skewed the the side a bit(My sister's & cousin's kids had taken to riding it down the hall and that's how it got broken). So...out come my trusty needle nose pliers and I ever so gently-but-firm bend the peg into place and she comes together a little! I put a rolled blanket under the horse and apply gentle-firm pressure to both sides of her until she is just about good as new and now I have this:

Giving Blue a ride.

Needless to say I LOOOOOOOVE this horse!!!!! Sure, she needs to be wiped down with some acetone and probably some sandpaper before I repaint her & buy her new hair, but SHE WAS FREE! And you can't beat that with a stick!

Drama-Llama Central!

So unfortunately, yesterday was a disaster. The day before yesterday my Aunt S. had sat down with my grandfather and talked about what he's gonna do with everything that Grandma had labeled(there are actual nametags on some things in her handwriting) and the rest of the stuff she willed to different. people. The eviction date is drawing nearer and he still hasn't done anything about the will. So when they talked he told her to tell my mother to go ahead and come down and get her stuff since this will be the only time before he has to move that they can take off from there jobs in Dallas and come down to deal with the will stuff.

Yesterday when they show up granpa acts like they are there to rob him blind and calls one of my uncles and one of my cousins to gaurd the house like they're going to barge right in and start grabbing stuff! Then he proceeds to tell them that he can't do it today, it's a bad day he doesn't want to right now. Even though he knows that my mother won't be able to come back down before he moves he wants to pull this stupid bullshit at the last minute? It's been long enough since Grandma passed and he's only got a limited amount of time to get this stuff done. My uncle is going to get a fucking earful from ME today after calling my mom a bitch. The big baby couldn't even go see his dying mother in the hospital. I was the one calling his stupid ass, "Where are you? Grandma's crying because she thinks you don't love her since you haven't been up to see her. When are you coming to see Grandma? She's dying!" He wouldn't even call her on the phone.

I got what I wanted. I have some of Grandma. My Aunt made no bones about giving my mother & I some of her ashes. I don't give a crap about whatever is supposed to go to me.

ETA~ I talked to my cousin Amber who's actually been talking to Grandpa and actually knows what the hell is going on! So after I talked to her there were quite a few things that were cleared up. So tempers are no longer flaring(from me, anyway) and as soon as I get Grandpa's number I'm going to be checking in on him. Hell, I may even help Amber clean out his house so she's not stuck doing it my herself! That's a monumental task!

Huzzah for cleared up freakin' drama!

Praise for Triad Toys!!!

A few months ago I had ordered the Auburn HS from Triad along with their Spike Heeled Boots. What I got was the head sculpt and these:

I didn't see the spike heeled boots when I looked back on the site, so I figured they subbed these when they ran out. Well, after they did a site revamp(about a month after I got my order) I saw that they did, indeed, still have the spike heels and were selling them as regular stock. So I e-mailed Drew and let him know of the slip up and why I hadn't said anything for a month. He says, "No problem, I'll ship you the boots on Monday. Keep the others and save your shipping money."

Excellent customer service or what??? I not only got the right bootfeet, but got a free pair as well due to their mistake! Is that not awesome of them?

Triad RULES!

Thank you Drew and the rest of the Triad Team for making being a customer there such a great experience!

*derp*

I have no idea why or how I managed to follow my own blog under a different name? Weird.

I'm in so much pain today. My hips and shoulder hurt like the blue blazes! I haven't even been doing anything strenuous the past few days. I took off from exercising so I could get over this sinus infection and today I feel like complete hell.

Starting to get the hang of this!

Well, I finally found a great font for my banner(yay!) and I'm ready to start working on my dolls more! I finally got my new brushes and hair in so I'll be doing some repaints and rooting! It's too bad DrLocks was out of the white hair I need for one of my characters, but I did find it at another site. I just need to wait till pay day to get it! They are a good company to order from, though. MicroMark sent my brushes rather quickly, as well! I'm just in heaven, lately. I've been wanting to replace the raggedy olde trench that I've had for years and I scored a beautiful velvet trench that's used. It just needs new buttons. I almost wish there were a tag, it's outstanding quality and I'm curious as to how good a deal I actually got!

Doll stuff:
I'm currently painting Whysper's body.

She used to have a body that I tried to mod for her, but it was craptacular, at best. Then I saw the Takara AA bodies and decided to snag a couple before they were no longer being made. Whysper's head is actually from one of those Prince of Egypt dolls, the Queen. I got her second hand in a bunch of doll stuff that one of my friends gave me one day. She's one of the dolls that I will be repainting soon. I like her face, but the brushes I was using were too big to get the details clear enough. She's always been one of the most beautiful dolls that I own, to me. Then, again, it would be hard for me to look at one of my dolls and think, "UGLY!".

I'm fairly happy with the faceup that I've given 'Rot. It took me what.....5 tries? Yeah, fun....  I kept telling myself that it's different to paint resin vs. vinyl, but you never realize exactly how different it really is until you're attempting to paint a resin doll for the first time.

I just saw the option parts for the current Unoa order and saw the clasping hands! : D
DO WANT! I saw some jointed hands by Dikadoll that I want for 'Rot! I also want one of those loooooong tibetan lambswool wigs by Tinybear! The hands I can probably make, but the wig would be worth 30! I also need to get her some glass 10mm eyes. Geez, I'm gonna have to start selling some dolls to cover it all, lol.
